Dear fellow travelers,
Personal Update. As I reported in my April 9 message several months ago, the first three months of the year
left me exhausted at multiple levels, physical, emotional and energetic. I felt like an worn out old work horse in need of extended pasture time. Pasture time activities that have nourished and replenished me during the past few months, have been pretty active, with three beautiful grandchildren and three bonus grandchildren living close by on the homestead, gardening and other homestead projects, and the delight in immersing myself in study of the glacial geology of southern
Indiana. I infer a couple of things from the fact that I am being allowed this pasture time by Spirit: 1) the shift is fully on track, and 2) with new generations of LIghtworkers stepping forward and supporting the shift in diverse ways, my public contributions in support of the shift can be more occasional. I am resuming sending out blogs whenever the energies indicate it's time to write one.
One Small Plot of Heaven. The blessings and challenges of having three generations living on our 36-acre Windgather homestead bring to mind how much I learned from my parents, Elise (1920-2010) and Kenneth Boulding (1910-1993). In many ways their work was fifty years ahead of their time. As a sociologist my mother saw the family as the basic unit for
creating a better world. She wrote of the family as an agent for social change (1972), as a way into the future (1978) and as a small society (1982). She defined family broadly to include all gender orientations in relationship and single parents raising children, and all gender orientations in relationship and singles without children who intentionally created a sense of community with others in their homes. In 1944 my father, a deeply spiritual economist, wrote a sonnet for a
Quaker wedding that provided the metaphor for family life that inspired my mother's work as a sociologist, as well as the little piece of multigenerational paradise we call Windgather Homestead:
Put off the garb of woe, let mourning cease;
Today we celebrate with solemn mirth,
The planting in the ravaged waste of earth
Of one small plot of heaven, a Home of peace,
Where love unfeigned shall rule, and bring increase,
And pure eternal
joy shall come to birth
And grow, and flow, that neither drought nor dearth
Shall wither, 'til the Reaper brings release.
Guard the ground well, for it belongs to God;
Root out the hateful and bitter weed,
And from the harvest of thy Heart's good seed
The hungry shall be fed, the naked clad,
And love's infection, leavenlike,
shall spread
'Til all creation feeds from heavenly bread.
When Family Life Doesn't Feel Like One Small Plot of Heaven. I know many Lightworkers of my generation and younger who probably would not characterize their memories of growing up
as being in a "Home of peace." Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude and appreciation for those who incarnated into challenging family situations that forced waking up early to their spiritual nature. Without the energy that came from transcending painful childhoods the timeline shift around the time of the Harmonic Convergence in 1987 would not have happened and I wouldn't be here writing this blog. Remembering the challenges raising four
children with the support of a closely-knit multigenerational family, I am awed when I see self-aware LIghtworker parents, whose parents and siblings don't share their understanding of multidimensional reality, raising their beautiful children with love and care. You also have my deep appreciation and gratitude. Here's to the day when every home feels like one small plot of heaven.
